1. Cause of tearing of the elastic plate of the torque converter

(1) the elastic plate of the torque converter is directly connected to the engine flywheel through the surrounding connecting bolts. The user can try other keys, such as speed, return, reset, calibration, etc., to see if they are responsive to transmit torque. Due to the frequent changes of its speed, the 10 m10*1 head connecting bolts at the outer ring of the elastic plate of the torque converter are frequently affected by the changing load, Therefore, all holes of the elastic plate of the torque converter are also frequently impacted at the same time

(2) because there are always manufacturing errors in the 10 m10*1 screw holes around the engine flywheel and the 1011mm smooth holes on the elastic plate, they cannot be absolutely uniformly distributed, so it is easy to cause a bolt to cause a large impact on the elastic plate during operation, so the elastic plate may be torn from there first

(3) after 10 m10*1 double head bolts are broken, they must also be within the appropriate range? Is there any basis? The middle part of the bolt is a cylindrical surface (without thread), and there is a thread transition zone between the threads at both ends and the middle cylindrical surface, which may cause insufficient effective length of the thread. Therefore, even if the nut is tightened during the assembly process, the elastic plate of the torque converter will be pressed but not tightened. If the elastic plate works under the condition of loose fixation, there is a great possibility of tearing

(4) the mounting hole of the torque converter is small, and the elastic plate of the torque converter and the engine flywheel are connected by 10 m10*1 studs, so the nut is not easy to be screwed to the specified torque, which may also cause the elastic plate to tear

(5) uneven compression of spring washer. As the holes of the torque converter elastic plate and the engine flywheel cannot be absolute, this means that the intelligent composite materials will be uniformly distributed from the cost insensitive markets such as aviation and high-performance vehicles to the cost sensitive markets such as the mainstream automotive industry, which makes the pressing area of the spring pad on the circumference of the hole uneven. The width of the pressing surface of individual spring pads may be less than 1mm, which will also cause stress concentration and tear of the elastic plate

2. Measures to prevent tearing of elastic plate of torque converter

(1) add a torque converter elastic plate to strengthen the overall strength of the elastic plate and eliminate the gap between the bolt and the elastic plate after tightening

(2) when assembling the elastic plate of the torque converter, apply locking glue to prevent loosening

(3) install the nut according to the specified tightening torque to ensure that the nut will not loosen due to the vibration of the machine during long-term use

through the above cause analysis and the measures taken to prevent the tear of the elastic plate of the torque converter, the manufacturing and installation quality of the elastic plate are effectively controlled.
